Hi Sheila,
In previous years, a Happy Haunting event has been held at Downtown Disney on 30 & 31 October. Details of last years event were posted on the Disney Parks Blog on 22 October 2010 which you can see
HERE.
Kids were able to dress up in costumes and go trick-or-treating throughout Downtown Disney. There were at least 20 shops and restaurants throughout the West Side, Pleasure Island and the Marketplace that offered goodies from 5pm - 9pm. There was also a kid’s DJ dance party at the Waterside Stage, a magician, stilt walkers, storytelling and a few other happy haunts.
I would expect something similar to this will take place again this year and would recommend that you subscribe to the Disney Parks Blog to ensure that you receive information about what will actually be offered once it is available.
Haunted Carriage Rides through the woods of Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort are also available where Guests can experience chilling sights and sounds inspired by the Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
They are available nightly between 7.30pm - 10.30pm from 30 September to 31 October 2011. For pricing and availability, please call (407) WDW-PLAY or (407) 939-7529.
Lastly, according to the unofficial website The DISboards, Halloween activities were also offered last year at some of the Disney Resort hotels (for Guests of these Resorts only) You can read more about these activities by following this link:- http://www.wdwinfo.com/holidays/halloween.htm
I hope that this information has been of help and wish you a spooktacular trip!
