MNSSHP Dessert Party w/plaza garden view booked for 8:30. I'm worried we won't see the 8:15 parade and will be "booted" out before the 10pm fireworks, which was my entire reason for booking. Should we cancel?

    Hi, there!

Welcome to planDisney, Robin. I'm delighted you stopped by! It looks like you'll be arriving at the Walt Disney World Resort in just two days. Yay! That's super exciting.

I'm glad to hear you have tickets for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. With trick-or-treating throughout Magic Kingdom Park, exclusive entertainment offerings, unique Character Greetings, and low wait times for popular attractions, this special event is frightfully fun! I understand your concern about your reservation for Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing. You will be able to see some of the 8:15 PM performance of Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade from your dessert party, especially the parade floats, which are more visible from a distance. And you don't need to worry about being "booted" out of the dessert party before Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular begins. You'll be able to watch these event-exclusive fireworks from a designated standing location in the Plaza Garden.

As for whether or not you should cancel your existing reservations, that's really a matter of personal preference! I will tell you that there is a second performance of Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade at 11:15 PM (this is the one I recommend anyway because it's usually much less crowded), so if you don't entirely catch the first one, you can enjoy the second one later. I will also say that I was at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party a few weeks ago, and I was able to enjoy both the parade and the fireworks with a great view without paying an upcharge. As a special ticketed event, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is much less crowded than a typical evening in Magic Kingdom Park, making a great view of the parade and fireworks much easier to find.

If you do choose to cancel your existing reservations for Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing, be mindful of the cancelation policy. The page for the dessert party states that, "Full price will be charged/forfeited if the Guest cancels within one day or is a 'no show' for the reservation."

I hope this was helpful, Robin. I'm wishing you a magical stay at the Walt Disney World Resort!
