MK has a ticketed morning event from 7:45 to 9am. The park opens at 9am. If we get there before 9 can you still rope drop and see the characters opening skit at the castle?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a great question, Jim!

I have magical news for you! Guests with regular admission tickets are welcome to enter Magic Kingdom Park up to one hour prior to opening time even on days where a special event or Extra Magic Hours are offered. This is a great opportunity to arrive early and take a stroll down Main Street U.S.A. Many shops may be open at this time, including Main Street Bakery, so you can plan to grab a cup of coffee and a bite to eat, and make your way to the front of Cinderella Castle for a very magical morning welcome! Let the Magic Begin is a special opening ceremony that takes place about 5 minutes before the park is scheduled to officially open. Guests are greeted by Mickey Mouse along with other Disney friends, and you can enjoy the show and head over to your favorite attractions after rope drop. Do not forget to check the Walt Disney World Resort calendar to confirm the theme park schedule for the date of your visit.

If you ever plan on getting a very early start to your day at Magic Kingdom Park, then I highly recommend Disney Early Morning Magic – Fantasyland. This limited-entry, early-access experience is just the perfect way to be among the first Guests to enter the park and enjoy 7 popular Fantasyland attractions including Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Peter Pan’s Flight, and iconic “it’s a small world”. A delicious all-you-care-to-enjoy breakfast with several morning favorites is included, and please note that Guests must also have regular theme park admission in addition to the special event ticket.

I hope this helps you plan a magical morning, Jim! Come back to visit us real soon with more questions.
