Hi Kristin,
Thanks for hopping by with another question for us. I'm happy to help!
In my experience, I've only seen the parks reach capacity during extremely busy holiday periods or special events. My family was in
Magic Kingdom Park on Christmas Day a few years ago, and we received push notifications through our
My Disney Experience App alerting us that no additional guests would be permitted to enter that afternoon. The crowds were
very heavy that day so it wasn't surprising to see that notification come through. Similar crowd control measures were also in place on October 1, 2021, for Magic Kingdom Park's 50th Anniversary, but I haven't heard of many instances of total closure otherwise.
In instances when the parks reach capacity temporary closures may be in place for a few hours, or tiered levels of closure might be put into effect with certain groups like those with dining or resort reservations still allowed access. These instances are usually few and far between, but policies will vary on a case-by-case basis. Ultimately, Cast Members at the entrance will have the final word so unfortunately, I can't give you an official answer as to what might happen on your particular travel dates. I'd like to assume that priority will be given to guests who have purchased
Individual Lightning Lanes or have pre-paid Advance Dining Reservations but you'll need to defer to Cast Members that day for guidance. In the event that you aren't allowed entry due to capacity limits or other unexpected circumstances, you'd want to speak with
Guest Relations regarding any purchased experiences you aren't able to access.
Based on your travel dates I'm hoping you won't experience any trouble, and I think your plan to experience
TRON Lightcycle / Run Presented by Enterprise at night is a great idea! I've enjoyed this attraction at a few different times of the day, but nighttime is always my favorite. I'd also recommend double-checking the
entertainment schedule so you can time your arrival window before or after the evening fireworks. The cherry on top of any magical day at the parks is a showing of
Happily Ever After so you won't want to miss it during your visit.
I hope this was helpful Kristin. If we can answer any additional questions or offer more personalized recommendations please come back and let us know.
Magic and memories,
Amy
