We will be in MK on Saturday October 27. Opening says 9 AM....what time will gates open for quests to enter to see the Rope Drop Show at the castle? Trying to plan how early we will need to arrive! Thanks so much!

Hello Carol! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

One of my most frequent tips to Guests traveling to Walt Disney World Resort is getting the best start to your day as early in the morning as you can rouse your Mouseketeers.

With the Let the Magic Begin Welcome Show at Magic Kingdom, Guests are granted entry to Main Street, U.S.A. roughly 40 minutes before Magic Kingdom is scheduled to officially open for the day. During that time, many shops and Main Street Bakery are open to allow you to get your bearings and some early morning goodies (like a crucial Starbucks Coffee) before the entertainment begins in front of Cinderella Castle.

As the "official entry time" for this entry is not set in stone, I recommend that you plan to arrive just after 8:00am to get through security clearance and the Main Gates to be some of the first Guests to enter Magic Kingdom. If you are simply making sure to catch the Let the Magic Begin Welcome Show, I recommend you arrive no later than 8:50am.

If you are visiting Magic Kingdom on a day when Extra Magic Hours are offered to Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, entrance may be granted even earlier. If you partake in Extra Magic Hours, the Let the Magic Begin Welcome Show still occurs before the official Theme Park opening, so plan to make your way back to  Cinderella Castle.

    Have a Magical Morning!
