Hiya, Katherine! Welcome to planDisney!
It looks like you’re planning a fall visit to
Walt Disney World Resort, Katherine. I absolutely love visiting the parks during the Halloween season, especially Magic Kingdom Park! The Mickey Mouse pumpkin heads that line the lamp posts along Main Street, U.S.A. are my favorite.
Lightning Lane Premier Pass is such a great way to get time back during your day, Katherine. You can pace your day exactly the way you want to, and you can visit the attractions at your leisure. The time you save waiting in line can be used to enjoy some of the other offerings in the park. To answer your question, you are correct. When making selections for Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you cannot select a return time earlier than official park open. I checked with a Cast Member and confirmed that given that you do not select a return time when redeeming Lightning Lanes using Premier Pass, you can enter the Lightning Lane during
Early Theme Park Entry hours, all the way to park close.
Having said that, here’s a pro tip. I suggest entering the standby queue for attractions during Early Entry, as wait times are typically very low. Then you can return later in the day to ride them a second time when the standby queue wait times have increased. It’s a win-win!
I would also consider attending
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Katherine. This event takes place on select nights in August through October. Dates have not yet been announced for this year, but they will be released as the season approaches. It’s a great time! There’s party-exclusive entertainment, your favorite characters decked out in their Halloween best, and more candy than you could ever want at the Trick-or-Treat stations throughout the park!
I hope this answers your question, Katherine! If you have any other questions as you continue planning your frightfully fun vacation, please don’t hesitate to come back and see us here at

Wishing you a
spooktacular visit!
