We will be @ MK on 2/19 & 2/21, parks open til 11pm. How feasible is it to exit for a break and come back later? Any idea how long it takes to exit and re-enter the park? Any tips?

    Hello, Kathryn,

How wonderful that you will be heading to the Magic Kingdom next month!  Since you are visiting around Presidents' Day Weekend, there might be bigger crowds since many schools have breaks then.  However, I think taking a break during the day is certainly something you'd be able to do with ease.  In fact, I'm a big fan of afternoon breaks.  For me, I've found taking a few hours to rest a bit, explore a resort, or spend time at the pool is both relaxing and refreshing.

Please know, too, that you can take an afternoon break at any of the nearby resorts (especially those on the monorail:  Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, & Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa).  We do this frequently to have a late lunch or early dinner at one of the resorts.  We then work in some time for shopping and exploring the resorts. Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has an amazing lobby that is incredibly relaxing, especially if you'd like some time off your feet.

The amount of time to exit and re-enter can vary quite a bit depending on your destination.  You may want to allow an hour for both coming and going if you are using Disney transportation to go beyond the Magic Kingdom area.

If you have any further questions, please let us know.  Wishing you a magical trip!  -Kara
