I have been to the MK park opening to see the characters coming in on the train. Do any of the other parks have this type of an opening celebration or do they just open the doors?

    Bryan:

Our family is made up of early-birds,  so we get to see the Characters at rope drop!

The other parks have the Characters welcome everyone, but I have to admit, unless you are at the front of the line, it's hard to see the "magic"... There's nothing like the vantage point of the train tracks above you at the Magic Kingdom, and all the Characters that come hopping off the train to welcome you!

To be more specific, last week at Epcot, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto came out to the rope drop as guests waited near Innovations West for Soarin' (and don't tell anyone, but I think a little pixie dust carried Mickey and the gang instantly over to Innovations East for the crowd waiting to get to Test Track)...At Animal Kingdom, the gang comes out on a jeep to Discovery Island before guests head to either Asia or Africa...and at Disney Studios...well, I was only about 20 feet out from the rope drop but still couldn't see a thing!

For the Magic Kingdom, I think it's worth the extra effort if you're getting up primarily for the Character Opening.  For the other parks, I recommend getting up early so you can enjoy the headliner attractions before the crowds come, but not necessarily for the Character welcome....

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
