Going to MK when the new fireworks premiere in mid-May. I'm going with elderly parents and it's hard for them to sit or stand on the concrete for too long. The fast-pass viewing area was perfect but no longer available. Any suggestions?

    Dear Gina,

Thanks for reaching out to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question about planning for the new nighttime spectacular at the Magic Kingdom, Happily Ever After!

I understand that it can be challenging for some guests to stand for long periods of time such as when waiting for shows to begin. There are a number of options that you could consider, and any visit to Walt Disney World Resort with a guest with disabilities should include a stop at Guest Services to get the "latest and greatest" help with accommodating your specific needs.

First, there are several areas near the "hub" where your folks could sit while the rest of the family holds a space for them in your desired location (such as a round bench area near the entrance to Adventureland). Second, you could consider a wheelchair rental for the day that you will be watching this nighttime spectacular, so that they can sit while waiting.

Another option that would add some cost to your experience but might be perfect would be to attend the Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace that night, or at least for your relatives to attend it. Comfortable seating and delectable desserts are provided!

Hope that helps with your magical planning!
