Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Emma!
You're in for a festive treat when you combine the merriment of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party with the tasty fun of a Fireworks Dessert Party.
I have had the opportunity to try both these fantastic Fireworks Dessert Parties, so I'm happy to give the sweet scoop on the difference between these two scrumptious offerings.
The dessert portion for both events will take place at Tomorrowland Terrace, the main difference is your viewing location for the fireworks spectacular, Holiday Wishes. Those attending the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party will stay at the location with the ability to view the fireworks from their table. Here's the thing, in my experience, no one stays at their table during the fireworks, everyone usually ends up lining up along the railing, blocking the view of those that would like to stay seated - you're also more at a side-angle view of Cinderella Castle.
For those with Plaza Garden Viewing, shortly before the show, Cast Members will escort you to the East Garden of the Castle Hub, reserved specifically for party guests. This view, in my opinion, is spectacular as you are facing Cinderella Castle head on and will be able to view all the magic in its full glory - Cinderella Castle comes alive as part of the Holiday Wishes storyline. This location definitely requires you to stand, but since everyone seems to stand at Tomorrowland Terrace, you might as well have a better view of the castle.
We'll be experiencing our third Fireworks Dessert Party on Thanksgiving, and while both dessert parties were available at the time of my booking, I choose the
Plaza Garden View.
I hope this is helpful, Emma! Please let me know if you should have any additional questions. I am here to help!
