We will be going to MK on 4/24/12.Do you know if they will continue to do the 'soft opening' of Dumbo and Goofy??? Sorry but what exactly is 'soft opening'? Thanks

    Hi, Fabiana!

A "soft opening" is simply when a Park quietly opens a new feature for the public to use. There is no fanfare or grand celebration at this point.

The point of the soft opening is like a dress rehearsal: giving the new feature/ride time to be broken in by real people in real circumstances. No amount of controlled testing can replicate what it's like in the real world!

You should be able to enjoy the Barnstormer, at least one of the double Dumbo rides, and the new train station. Who know ... you might even be on time for the soft opening of another exciting part of the new Fantasyland!

And when everything is ready, that's when Walt Disney World will throw a grand opening bash with the fanfare, fun, and magic that we're all so ready to experience.

    Have a marvelous time!

    See you later, celebrator,
    -Deborah B.
