We will be at MK this Friday, and thunderstorms are forecasted! Please tell me our vacation can still be enjoyed! We will have our 12 month old son as well as our 5 & 13 yr old nieces and 23 month old nephew. How can we make it fun for them with rain?

    Hey Laura,

I'm so glad you popped in to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I'm happy to help!

Florida weather can be very unpredictable but hopefully those thunderstorms won't last all day. I have enjoyed plenty of days at Magic Kingdom park in the rain and sometimes have experienced shorter wait times because of it. Many Guests will head back to their resorts so it can make for a great opportunity to experience more attractions in a shorter length of time.

Here are a few things I recommend so that you're prepared. Bring ponchos for everyone or buy them when you arrive. Pack a change of clothes for the children in case they are uncomfortable if they get wet. Also bring an extra pair of socks for everyone. It's not a bad idea to pack a towel or two for drying off when needed. If you're taking strollers, stop by a baby store and get a rain cover for them. My youngest son was always dry because he was under the cover in the stroller. Last but not least, try to arrive early and do as many of the outdoor attractions first if it's not raining. Some of them may have to close temporarily during the rain.

I will send you some extra pixie dust for a dry and sunny day but nonetheless, I hope y'all have a great time!
