Hi Susanne,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another question!
My family has several strategies for playing the waiting-for-our-Villa game during our visits to Walt Disney World Resort. When my little guy still needed his afternoon nap, I found that it was easiest to put him to sleep in his stroller in cooler, quieter areas such as the
Baby Care Centers in all 4 Theme Parks, including Magic Kingdom Park.
Another option would be to head back to
Bay Lake Towers at Disney’s Contemporary Resort when it’s time for everyone to take a break and head over to the pool area for some shade and a place to stretch out and get off your feet for a bit. That’s also a prime toddler napping spot; you won’t be the only families trying to get their little ones to nap for more fun later that night!
My tip for travelling with toddlers: try to shift your grandson’s nap by a few hours so that everyone can enjoy all that nighttime at Walt Disney World Resort has to offer… including a break from the daytime heat! Although my little guy used to nap from 12:30-2:30 pm at home, I used to shift his naps to 2:00-3:00 pm in order for everyone to enjoy some evening fun.
Please don't hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions!
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
