Hello! I will be going to MK on February 8th, and wanted to know, if park opening is at 9 am, but guests start entering at 8, at what time does the monorail and/or boat start working (from ticket center to MK)? Thank you!

    Hi Thais!

Thanks so much for your question. It's a great one! Disney's Complimentary Transportation System is a fantastic way to get around between Parks and Resorts. It can sometimes get confusing as to which types of transportation operate at what times so I'm glad you asked. The Monorail starts running 30 minutes before the earliest opening time that day. For example, if there are Extra Magic Hours that begin at 8:00 AM (and even if the Park doesn't open to the public until 9:00 AM) the Monorail will start operating at 7:30 AM. Water Transportation times are dependent on weather and are, therefore, subject to change. Starting times are variable, although in good conditions, watercraft do run every 15 to 30 minutes. If you have some flexibility in your schedule, I would recommend riding on a boat at least once during your stay. It is so relaxing and the scenery is beautiful! And if you decide to catch the Monorail from the Transportation and Ticket Center, be sure you get on the Express Monorail to Magic Kingdom Park. It will save you some time!

I'm so glad you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. As you are making your plans, I hope you will come back if there is anything else we can do to help you. Here's to a wonderful Walt Disney World vacation.

    Have a magical day!
