In the MK, some evenings offer extra magic hours. We are staying off the MK campus-how do they go about separating those that are able to attend extra magic hours and those of us that are not?

    Hello, Amanda!

What I've noticed on our recent trips to Walt Disney World parks during Extra Magic Hours in the evening is that Cast Members won't hurry non-Disney resort Guests out of the park at the stroke of the clock when the Magic Hours begin.  Instead, those guests without a wristband, signifying that they are WDW Resort Guests, will be denied entrance to the attractions.  These wristbands are obtained at specified locations with the parks; guests show their current Key to the World Card in order to receive a wristband.

If you are finishing a meal at a restaurant inside the park, or shopping at a store inside the park, no one will insist that you turn around and leave right away at the regular park closing time.

At the entrances to the attractions, however, there will be a Cast Member who will ask to see the wristband of all Guests attempting to enter the queue.

Additionally, once the Extra Magic Hours (in the evening) have begun, only Guests with an active Key to the World Card will be able to enter that park.

I hope that this helps!  Please send us any additional questions you may have as you plan your vacation to Walt Disney World!
