Hi there Jonelle and welcome to planDisney!
There’s definitely a special place in my heart for fellow guests who like to linger beyond
theme park opening hours as darkness falls among the kingdom; but I can imagine if you’re not one of our usual planDisney After Dark folks, finding your way back at the end of the night can be something to ponder.
Thankfully from my recent experience, guests attending
Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties: Post-Party events that continue on following the conclusion of
Happily Ever After currently don’t need to worry about
resort bus transportation being available as I’ve observed that it does remain operational as Magic Kingdom Park is cleared of any remaining day guests to ensure that they're able to safely return to their respective
Disney Resort Hotels. Though transportation generally runs for an hour past closing, there could be a number of reasons why guests may still be inside the theme park beyond that time. Besides those sticking around to enjoy the Post-Party sips and sweets, buses may continue running for certain guests such as:
- Folks and families who hop into the queue for an attraction with a lengthy standby wait like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train just before the posted Magic Kingdom Park closing time.
In my experience some of the last buses may collect guests waiting for a number of adjacent Resort Hotels to drop them off one by one, which could result in a slightly longer ride. Often being among the last to leave Magic Kingdom Park you'll be asked where you're headed and the
Transportation Cast Members will do their best to get you directly there in order to ensure they've cleared everyone as efficiently as possible.
Wishing you all the best on your after-hours adventuring!
