When MK closes at 7:00PM for MVMCP, if you haven't purchased the MVMCP ticket can you hang around inside and shop or dine for a while then observe the fireworks from inside the park?

Unfortunately you really can't hang around after 7:00 pm if you don't have tickets to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP).  All of the guests with tickets will be given wristbands, and guests without wristbands will be politely asked to work their way toward the exit.  If you need to do some last minute shopping on Main Street a little bit after 7:00 pm, I doubt anyone would really care, but you aren't allowed to simply hang around and enjoy the party without tickets.

Bonus tip: If you DO have tickets to MVMCP, you can enter the Magic Kingdom starting at 4 pm.  Personally, if I know we are going to an evening party, I like to sleep in on that day and enjoy the resort (or perhaps Downtown Disney), and then head over to the Magic Kingdom at around 4 pm.  That way we aren't too tired to enjoy the party, and we don't have to use a separate park ticket during the day.
