Missy, I’ve been trying to do a live video chat to register for the DAS and it’s been terribly frustrating. It says it has long wait times, which I understand. But it keeps ending the chat on us and we have to start over. Not sure what to do.

Hi, Amanda! While I am so glad to see you back here at planDisney, I feel terrible that you are experiencing difficulty pre-registering for Disability Access Service (DAS). I spoke with a Cast Member today who gave me some feedback that I'm happy to share with you!

She suggested first to try clearing your cookies or cache in your browser; this is an essential first step for almost any troubleshooting for internet browsing. She mentioned that many Guests are experiencing difficulties with certain browsers, so try switching to another one such as Safari or Google Chrome to see if that makes a difference. Lastly, make sure to review and accept the Terms & Conditions before requesting a live video chat. Hopefully, these things will help!

The Cast Member also mentioned that since the pre-registration process has been extremely popular with Guests, the average wait time for the video chat is four hours. I know this can be a burden on you and your daughter, so if possible, try logging on as soon as live chat is available at 7:00 AM EST. Understandably, you may not be able to wait by your computer the entire time, so if you need to leave your house, you can use your cell phone instead. If you still don't experience success, try calling Disability Services at (407) 560-2547- they are very helpful!

Also, if you decide it may be easier to register in person, you may stop by a Guest Relations location during your park visit. The main difference is you'll only be able to book one attraction at a time as opposed to two during the pre-registration format. I know many friends, including Missy, who have done this in person, and they say it is relatively straightforward (and it doesn't have a four-hour wait)!

Here's one more planDisney tip, Amanda. Make sure everyone in your party is linked through Family & Friends in My Disney Experience; that way, they can be included in your DAS plans. The system allows up to six guests (including the person requesting it).

Mickey and I sincerely hope that the pre-registration process goes more smoothly this time around. Please feel free to write back anytime! Take care!

I'm that mom who always has her ears perked at PTO meetings, in the grocery store aisle, or at my monthly Bunco club for an opportunity to give someone a planning tip to help make their vacation even more magical.
