Hi there, Amanda! Thanks for reaching out to planDisney again- we love our repeat visitors! Missy is not an active Panelist this year; she's been placed in the "Disney Vault," so to speak. She is such a wonderful person, and I know she'll be back answering questions one day soon, but in the meantime, I'm happy to help!
Disability Access Service (DAS) is an excellent option for guests who have difficulty waiting in traditional queues; instead of physically waiting in line, you receive a return time. Now Guests are welcome to
pre-register for DAS virtually with a Cast Member via live video chat between 2 to 30 days before their park visit. It's nice to have one less thing to worry about when you get to the parks!
The live chat is available from 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM Eastern Time; this new format has been very popular, so be prepared to wait for a bit for a Cast Member. There are three steps to the process: eligibility qualification, video chat, and DAS Advance Selections; once you get through, the whole thing from beginning to end should take about 15 minutes.
Due to HIPPA laws, no documents will be required, but the Cast Member will ask a few short questions so they can better understand the accommodations you are requesting. You'll need to introduce your daughter on the video call, and a photo will be taken of her. The benefit of pre-registering is you can select DAS 1 hour return windows for two qualifying attractions per day (attractions with paid
Individual Lightning Lanes are NOT eligible for return windows through pre-registration). This will be done in the final step of the video chat.
Once you've used the Advance Selections, you can also select return times (one at a time) on the
My Disney Experience Mobile app; tap on the three horizontal lines located on the bottom right corner, and then select "Accessibility," which will take you to the DAS tab. Make sure to add your travel party to your
Family & Friends list so that they can be included in DAS plans.
If you have any questions along the way, Amanda, you can call Disability Services at (407) 560-2547. Also, you can still register in person at any theme park's Guest Relations locations or through the Guest Experience Team kiosks (look for the blue umbrellas). I hope this helps. Mickey and I hope to see ya real soon!
