    does. a minor need a. passport for cruise to Nassau and castaway

    Ahoy there Toby! Welcome to planDisney. It is so nice to have you aboard. We had this same issue years ago and fortunately getting identification for minors to board Disney Cruise Line ships at Ports of Departure and for  Port Adventures is simple.

    There is some nuance here so let me break it down. For closed-loop sailing (beginning and ending) at these ports: Fort Lauderdale; Galveston; Miami; New Orleans; New York; Port Canaveral; San Diego; and San Juan; United States citizens will need either a US passport or the following;

    • Guests 15 years or younger: Original or copy of their state-issued birth certificate and are not required to have a government-issued photo ID
    • Guests 16 years and older: will need a Government-issued photo ID like a driver's PLUS an original or a copy of their state-issued birth certificate

    Disney Cruise Line provides a handy guide for passports, visas, and citizenship documentation so be sure to review it before leaving for your journey in March.

    Tobbi, I hope this information helps you get ship-shape for the adventures and relaxation that await as Captain Mickey takes you towards that beautiful blue horizon. Please feel free to write me back directly with any follow-up questions or for other Disney vacation planning tips.

    Enjoy making many Magical Memories on the High Seas.
