I see there is a 16 min/mile pacing requirement for the WDW Marathon however I noticed in the final results from the 2014 Marathon some participants had a "net" time of over 7.5 hours. Is a person allowed to exceed this time & receive their

    Hi, Colleen!

Thank you so much for your question regarding the pacing requirements for runDisney endurance events.
You are correct, there is a 16 minute per mile pace that must be maintained for all runDisney events. However, the timing clock for this required pace does not begin until the very last runner in the last corral crosses over the starting line. This means those that are already on the course when the 16 minute mile clock begins, do have a bit of extra time- therefore increasing their chip time, while their clock time remains within the requirement.

I hope this information helps clear up any confusion, Colleen. Please let me know if you are interested in participating in the Walt Disney World Marathon. I would love to help answer any additional questions you may have about the runDisney race series.

    Have a great day!
