Hi there, Jeremy! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for visiting with your question today. I'm looking forward to helping you with the
Disney Vacation Club information you require!
It sounds like you're considering becoming a Member of the coolest club around--Disney Vacation Club! Our family joined DVC quite a few years ago and I can honestly say it's a decision we've never regretted. Our Membership has allowed us to visit Disney
destinations all over the world and even sail the seven seas on
Disney Cruise Line! This week we're heading "Home" for a dance competition at the
ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, and a fellow dance mom is also staying on-property courtesy of our
Vacation Points.
Your information is correct, Jeremy--to receive a Disney Vacation Club Membership Card, you would currently need to accumulate at least 150 Vacation Points directly from Disney. This also allows you access to
Member Benefits, which include exclusive discounts on tours, dining, and shopping. I always check the current offers before I travel to
Walt Disney World Resort so I'm up to date on all the best deals, and I also politely ask at any restaurants or stores I visit to make sure I don't miss a discount!
2024 is an exciting year for a prospective DVC Member! As you may know,
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort will go on sale for non-Members beginning February 27. These will open this summer and are sure to be a great addition to the current lineup of DVC resorts--close to nature and just a short boat ride from
Magic Kingdom Park.
I'm also anxiously awaiting news of the new tower at
Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, which is anticipated to open later in the year. The Polynesian is our family's
Home Resort and I think it's a practically perfect spot to spend your Disney vacation! Lake views, monorail access,
and DOLE pineapple treats on-site? Yes, please!
If you're interested in learning more, I recommend connecting with the helpful Guides at Disney Vacation Club to schedule a
Virtual Meeting, an in-person tour at a Disney property, or an on-demand webinar. When we were considering Membership, speaking directly with a Guide was really helpful in weighing all of the considerations and answering any questions we had.
Well, Jeremy, I hope all of this information is useful for you and your Disney Vacation Club dreams. Please feel free to
reach out directly if I can answer any other questions about Membership and all that goes with it. I hope you'll be hearing a hearty "Welcome Home" someday soon!
Stay Magical!
Susan
