Is there a minimum age for the Magic Kingdom Firework Cruise? We are looking at booking one but our baby will only be about 3 weeks old. We will have noise cancelling headphones for her, but curious if she is too small to go on the boat?

Hey Emma, thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!

One of the policies for the Fireworks Cruises is that Guests 12 years and younger must wear a Disney-provided life vest while on board. I’ve taken several fireworks cruises with younger kids, and the life vests were provided at the marina before boarding the boat. Since my kids were a bit older than 3 weeks when we did this cruise, I called the “Tours, Recreation” line to speak with a Cast Member for information about the life vests. The Cast Member told me that the infant would be allowed to board the Fireworks Cruise, however, there may not be a life vest at the marina that would fit the baby. The adults on board would be responsible for holding the baby for the entirety of the experience.

I have a few additional tips for booking this experience, Emma. The infant would be included in the Guest count, and each pontoon can only accommodate up to 10 Guests. I recommend calling to book the cruise and letting the Cast Member know the ages of any children at the time of booking, just in case any policies change between the time I have written this answer and when you call to book. Depending on the time of year you visit, it can be chilly while you’re on the boat, so keep that in mind before you arrive at the marina. The cruise may be canceled due to inclement weather, but could still occur in rainy or cold weather. You may also want to factor in the length of the experience when considering taking a baby, we took a Magic Kingdom fireworks cruise last summer, and the entire experience took around an hour and 45 minutes. It is a fantastic idea to pack the noise-canceling headphones; they were so useful for fireworks shows when my kids were younger.

I hope this information was helpful, Emma. I hope you enjoy making magical memories with the new baby! Make sure you get lots of photos with the characters and in front of Cinderella Castle with your little one. I highly recommend purchasing Memory Maker for this trip so you can stop and take a photo at every PhotoPass photographer, then come home and download them to share with family and friends. If you have any more questions, we’d love to help you again at planDisney
