Welcome to planDisney and the first step toward planning your very own sailing aboard Disney Cruise Line!
According to the
Disney Cruise Line Terms and Conditions, the minimum age for booking a stateroom on a sailing is 18 years old. Guests must be at least 18 years old to sail unaccompanied and any minors under the age of 18 who are not traveling with a parent or legal guardian must be accompanied by someone at least 21 years of age or older in the same stateroom. Please note that although the minimum age to sail unaccompanied is 18 years old, the minimum age to drink alcoholic beverages aboard Disney Cruise Line is 21 years old, with a valid photo ID, as required by the laws of the United States. (For further information, including some exceptions to this age requirement for international sailings, see the section of the Disney Cruise Line website regarding the
Alcohol Policy Onboard.)
The Disney Cruise Line fleet features a number of areas reserved exclusively for guests 18 years and older, including the
Quiet Cove Pool area found aboard most ships and a selection of adults-only dining experiences. Additionally, though some of the
nightclubs and lounges play host to family-friendly activities during the day, the areas designated as adult entertainment districts become restricted to guests 18 years and older after 9:00pm. Once you are onboard, you can use the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App to check the schedule of events for your entire sailing, including adult-exclusive game shows, karaoke, trivia, and more. I personally recommend checking out “Match Your Mate” for a night filled with laughter and questions you probably never thought you would hear on a Disney vacation!
Happy sailing!
Catherine
Bonus Tip: Guests between the ages of 18 and 20 are invited to participate in a number of special events as members of the “1820 Society.” Be sure to check your Navigator App for meetups and activities exclusively designed for young adults in this age group.
