Welcome aboard planDisney! From one military member to another, thank you and your family for your service. I’m always happy to help fellow service members navigate the waters of Disney cruise planning, so let’s hoist the sails and take a look at how those military rates typically work.
When it comes to special offers, including the military rates, my best advice is to keep a close eye on the
Special Offers page and make sure you’re
signed up for email updates if you aren’t already. Over the past year or so there has been a pretty wide variety of discounts popping up that we haven’t always seen in the past, so that page is going to be the best place to find the most current information when new deals are released.
Keeping in mind that Disney can always change things up,
military rates are typically released closer to the sailing date rather than years in advance. These offers are often used to help fill remaining staterooms, so they usually appear about two to six months before the cruise departs. Since it looks like you’re hoping to sail in March of 2027, I would estimate that if military rates become available for those itineraries, they might show up around November or December of 2026.
It’s also helpful to know that not every sailing will receive a military rate. Cruises that fall during very popular travel periods, like spring break weeks or major holidays, sometimes sell well enough that Disney doesn’t need to release those discounted fares. Because of that, if you already know your travel dates and they fall during a busy season, it may be worth booking early to lock in the itinerary you want.
Personally, I really enjoy
taking advantage of these offers whenever our family schedule allows for a little flexibility. When the timing lines up, the military rates can be a fantastic way to sail with Disney while saving a little extra treasure for souvenirs, shore excursions, or maybe a little Bingo at sea.
