Hi Tricia! Welcome to planDisney, and thank you for your service to our country.
As a military spouse, I am so grateful for the military discounts available to our family when we visit the Walt Disney World Resort. Those discounts allow us to return again and again to our happy place, where we make magical memories that sustain us through difficult times and separations. I'm so glad you're taking the time to figure out the ways these discounts work so you can take full advantage!
I want to clarify a few things that I think will help with your planning. First, you're absolutely right that each Guest using a
Disney Military Salute ticket may use their ticket entitlements throughout the use period - from the day you activate the tickets at Walt Disney World Resort by showing your eligible military ID until the expiration date (which is December 16, 2022). With a 5-day Disney Military Salute ticket with the Park Hopper Plus Option, this means each Guest has five days of theme park admission and five "plus" entries to the available and eligible water parks and golf courses. Those entries do not all have to happen on the same visit - my family frequently breaks up these tickets over two visits, which is a fantastic perk. Once the ticket is linked to and used by a Guest, it cannot be transferred, so keep that in mind - the same Guests must use the tickets, and the eligible military member (or their spouse with valid ID) must travel with the party.
The second part of your plan, however, will not work. The
offer details state that "no more than six (6) Disney Military Salute Tickets may be purchased by any Eligible Service Member or spouse (regardless of the place of purchase and whether purchased by that person or that person's spouse)." Because you have purchased four tickets already, you will only be able to purchase two more tickets for the 2022 use year. It doesn't matter which Disney Military Salute ticket type you purchase; the limit is six military tickets total per family.
For your October visit, you could purchase two Disney Military Salute tickets and then purchase an additional two tickets. I would take a look at
Shades of Green's Ticket Prices list to see if a military-discounted Magic Your Way ticket is a good option for your family; those discounts aren't as amazing as the Salute, but still a better deal than gate prices. You might also want to look at the
Special Offers webpage to see if there are any other discounts available.
Another option is to break up your tickets a little differently over your two visits. With ten entries total, you could sprinkle theme park and "plus" days throughout your vacations, and maybe add a few days of enjoying your resort hotel - the pool and recreation options are terrific at
Disney Resorts Collection hotels - and visiting
Disney Springs. My family has started to take this slower approach to our Disney vacations, and we find we're more refreshed when we get home and still make all the memories and have all the theme park fun!
Tricia, thank you for stopping by with this question and have so much fun making your plans for TWO Walt Disney World Resort vacations in 2022. If you have any further questions, your friends here at planDisney are all ears!
Wishing you TWO magical vacations,
Robyn
