Ahoy, Rainbow!
Welcome aboard planDisney! From one military member to another, thank you for your service. I always appreciate seeing fellow service members looking to take advantage of these well-earned Disney cruise offers, so let’s get you squared away and mission ready!
It sounds like you’ve been doing your homework, and you’re absolutely on the right track. National Guard and Reservists can qualify for military rates, but there is one key requirement. You must be on active-duty orders. That’s the piece that unlocks the offer, kind of like having the right key to open the gates in Arendelle.
When you arrive at the cruise terminal, you’ll
need to present two things:
• Your valid military ID
• A copy of your active-duty orders
Those orders need to show that you were active as of January 1st of the previous year. So if you’re sailing this year using
the military rate, your orders must reflect active-duty status beginning January 1st of last year. This is one of the biggest details to double check ahead of time so there are no surprises at check-in.
Also, keep in mind that these military rates are limited and can vary by sailing, so if you see one that works for your schedule, it’s usually a good idea to lock it in. If you don’t happen to qualify, it’s always worth checking the
Special Offers page from time to time. Disney has been releasing some great deals that can rival or even complement the military rates depending on timing.
I hope this helps you feel confident about qualifying and what to bring with you on embarkation day. With the right documents in hand, you’ll be all set to trade your uniform for cruise casual and enjoy some well-deserved time at sea.
Sea ya real soon as springtime magic begins to ripple across the water,
Dustin
