Hi Bradley!
Welcome to planDisney! We're glad you found us hEAR!
I'm an Air Force spouse myself, Bradley, and I have also done the whole cross-country-move with unused Disney tickets, ha! While Mickey's two houses,
Disneyland Resort in California and
Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, are owned by the same company and feature many of the same attractions, the two have separate "back end" systems for many things that cannot be shared. Sadly
Theme Park Admission Tickets cannot be purchased for one and then be redeemed at a park on the opposite coast. And oddly enough, merchandise purchases cannot be purchased at Land and returned or exchanged at World, and vis versa. (Even for items that don't specifically have the park name written on it, like a stuffed animal or generic Disney jewelry, so make sure that you're happy with all of your California souvenEARs before you pack out.) I am happy to say that
Disney Gift Cards can be used in any of the six U.S. theme parks, two water parks, the Downtown Disney District or at Disney Springs.
While these tickets are listed as non-refundable, you can certainly call the Ticket phone line to see if there might be any options for a military member who is PCSing. They can be reached at (714) 781-4636. But, a more fun idea would be to use your third day as part of your separation leave! Several of the
Good Neighbor Hotels in the area fall within the TLE per diem range, you could book a night or two and have a mini-vaycay on your way out of Cali. Pro Tip: Book your hotel on the hotel's actual website vs. through the Disney link as many, especially the global chains (Marriott, Hilton, etc), offer Military Discounts. Bonus Pro Tip: Book a hotel with a cool pool, like the Cambria or the Courtyard Theme Park Entrance, as they have mini water parks so you can
really enjoy your leave before the long seven-day cross country drive.
I'm so sorry that this wasn't the answer you were hoping for, Bradley. But I do hope that you're able to have a last bit of fun in the SoCal sun AND enjoy your time in Florida! Be sure to let us know if you have any Walt Disney World Resort planning questions. And follow both the
official planDisney Instagram account and
