Can military personnel buy military discounted tickets and give them as a gift or does the personnel have to come with us?

Hey there, hi there, Linda! Welcome to planDisney. We are so glad you stopped to ask us a ticket question!

It sounds like you are in the planning stages of your Disneyland trip and tickets are a great place to start! I know we all love finding a good deal on tickets whether it's a package or special offer. We are a military family so we really enjoy being able to take advantage of the offers Disneyland extends to us. There are different offers that have different perimeters on how they can be used. The Disney Military Promotional Tickets are available to active duty and retired military members, and there is a limit to how many can be purchased in the year. These tickets also require that one of the tickets be used by the military member (or spouse) and a military ID needs to be shown when using these tickets for the first time. There are also standard theme park tickets available at a discount and these tickets do not need the military member present and can be bought and gifted for anyone to use.

Please note that since these are being purchased at a military base ticket office you will need to link these to your Disneyland account as soon as possible so you can book your theme park ticket reservations. All tickets need theme park reservations for entry. You can do this through the Disneyland website or the Disneyland app

Linda, thanks so much for stopping by! Please come back and see us again with any other planning questions you may have.

Meet the Panelist: Carrie, California

Well hello there, friend! I'm Carrie, a work-from-home mom and military wife who currently calls sunny San Diego home. You'll find my family in the parks braving drops and coasters to work up our appetite to take as many snack breaks as we can. While Disneyland is our home away from home, we love trying to make a Walt Disney World Resort vacation happen at least once a year now too. All my friends know I'm the go-to for Disney advice, so I'm here to help you plan and experience the magic on your visit! Learn More About Carrie
