Hi moms! My DH is military and may be deployed soon, so we would like to take a trip to Disney. SOG is a great value, but my DD 8 really wants us to stay at the Poly. Is it possible to move between SOG and the Poly?

I've stayed at Shades of Green before and was pleasantly surprised.  It is a very nice resort and does deliver incredible value for location and accommodations.

What a wonderful way to spend some time together before your husband's deployment.

The Polynesian is significantly more expensive but the good news is that it is located very close to Shades of Green.  When we stayed there (Shades of Green) in 2005 we were able to take a short walk over to the Polynesian for dinner reservations or to ride the monorail.  The walk isn't bad at all, but to make it even more convenient Shades of Green did have a golf cart that would taxi guests to the edge of the property making the walk to the Polynesian even closer.

Of course, you could also do a split stay, spending a few nights at each resort.  Whichever you choose I hope your trip is magical and that it will provide your husband with some special memories before he goes.

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
