Hi. We are a military family traveling on a budget. We have two six year old boys. We will be staying at Pop Century September 24th-29th. We have a four day park hopper. Where can we eat reasonably in the parks for lunch?

    Hi, Quintella!

You are going to love Pop Century!  I recently stayed there with my family and we just loved it.  We had a standard room in the 50's buildings and really liked our location.

There are Quick Service locations in all the theme parks that offer meals for reasonable prices.  Kids meals are available for around $6 and include your entree, 2 sides, and a drink.  Sometimes I even just grab a kids meal as it is a lot of food!

Other ways to save money on food at the parks:
-Skip expensive sodas and bottled water, as you can get free cups of ice water at any quick service location.
-For snacks, get items you can share like a box of popcorn.  Another great snack that is readily available is fruit. Grab an apple or banana for a healthy snack for about $1.29 per piece.
-Bring your own goodies!  You are welcome to bring your own food and snacks into the park in a small cooler.  No glass bottles or alcoholic beverages permitted.  I like to have some juice boxes and crackers for a quick snack.
-Pack a box of granola bars or even a box of dry cereal in your luggage, and have a quick breakfast in your room.  This will save time and money each morning.

By packing some snacks, getting free cups of ice water in lieu of soft drinks, and sticking to quick service meals, I think you can keep on your budget and still have some great meals in Walt Disney World!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is sailing with Disney Cruise Line, running (or cheering!) at runDisney events, taking hula lessons at Aulani, or vacationing at the Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. I am proud to be a part of the planDisney team and cannot wait to share my tips and advice for a magical vacation
