Ahoy, Melissa!
Welcome aboard planDisney! First, from one military family to another, thank you all for your service. There is something extra special about celebrating time together after long stretches of busy schedules, training, and deployments. A Disney cruise is the perfect way to trade boots for flip flops and make some core memories at sea.
When it comes to
booking with the military rate, the general rule is that only one stateroom per eligible military member may be booked at the special rate. So, if only one adult in your party qualifies for the military rate, typically you would only be able to book one discounted stateroom. However, if both adults are qualifying military members, you may book two staterooms under the military offer.
There is also some flexibility for larger immediate families. In situations like yours with two adults and four children, Disney can often work with you to split the family across two staterooms while still using the military rate. The key detail is that each qualifying adult may need to be assigned to a separate stateroom. For example, you would be listed in one room and your spouse in the other, and then you can divide your children between the two staterooms as it works best for your crew. At check-in, you should both be prepared to
present valid military or dependent identification.
As for adding a grandparent, yes, that is typically possible as long as the qualifying military members are assigned correctly to the staterooms. If you and your spouse are each attached to one of the rooms, a grandparent can usually be added to one of those staterooms without issue. Since military offers can have specific terms and sailing restrictions, I strongly recommend
calling Disney Cruise Line directly when booking. A Cast Member can walk through your exact family setup, confirm eligibility, and ensure everything is arranged properly long before embarkation day.
I hope this helps as you chart out your family’s sailing plans. With the right setup, you can
maximize your savings and bring Grandparents along for the adventure, too.
Sea ya real soon with a little extra warmth, wonder, and Disney magic,
Dustin
