Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it's off to Walt Disney World Resort we go! Thank you for bringing your great question here, Margeorie!
First, let me truly thank you for your service. I know that service members and their families truly understand the meaning of dedication and commitment. As a military spouse, I believe that quality time is the best gift, and I can't think of a better place to spend that time together than at
Walt Disney World Resort! I would love to help you plan a trip that's practically perfect in every way.
Margeorie, I'm happy to let you know that Eligible Service Members are offered great rates on both
Disney Resorts Collection hotels and
Disney Military Salute Tickets! Eligible Service Members are active, retired, or 100% disabled members of the military and their spouses. To see which Disney Resort hotels are available with a special rate, all you need to do is call a Cast Member at (407) 939-7830. Let them know which dates and resorts you're interested in and they'll be happy to help you! My best tip would be to remain flexible on your desired resorts and dates, if possible. Sometimes just shifting your dates by a few days can open up a whole new world of possibilities!
Eligible Service Members can purchase Disney Military Salute Tickets either from their local base or through Shades of Green. Personally, we like to order our tickets through
Shades of Green because they arrive already activated and ready to be used. No matter how you purchase your tickets, you'll want to make sure to do two things:
link your tickets to your My Disney Experience account and make your Theme Park Reservations using the
Disney Park Pass system. This is an important step to reserve the parks you wish to visit on each day of your trip! Prior to booking your dates, I'd recommend taking a peek at the
Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar to make sure the parks you're hoping to visit are available. This can help you pick just the right dates for your family's magical vacation!
You are also welcome to check out the
Special U.S. Military Rates through
Disney Cruise Line! In my experience, more offers for military families tend to open up closer to the date of sailing. If there's a particular time you're looking to sail on the high seas, I'd begin looking at these special offers starting around three months prior to your cruise, then continue to check back periodically until about a month before. If you see a cruise that will work for your family, I'd recommend scooping it up quickly! And if you have any other specific questions about Disney Cruise Line, feel free to ask my panelist friends
Adrianna and
Andrew. With a specialty in Disney Cruise Line, they will be able to give you all the helpful tips and tricks when planning!
I hope I was able to help you with your planning questions, Margeorie! If I can help with any other questions, please visit us again. Remember - you've got a friend in me!
See ya real soon!
