Do the military discounts on Disney vacations include Honorably Discharged Veterans or just Retired?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Sharlene!

Before becoming Annual Passholders, my family and I used the Military Promotional Tickets to visit Walt Disney World Resort each year. In order to activate these tickets, you will need to have a valid U.S. Military photo ID. Typically these are used by active and retired members of the U.S. Military and their spouses/ dependents. If you are an honorably discharged Veteran but do not have a current U.S. Military photo ID, I’m afraid you would be ineligible for the discount.

Do you know about Shades of Green, though? This is a hotel on Walt Disney World Resort property (nestled between Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course and Disney’s Palm Golf Course) that is reserved for the exclusive use of U.S. Military members and their families. While they typically require the same forms of ID required to purchase the Military Promotional Tickets, they do offer a “Salute to Our Veterans” program where all military veterans who have received an honorable discharge have an opportunity to stay at Shades of Green during January and September. Room availability for this offer is limited, but you can contact Shades of Green for additional information.

Please let us know if there are any additional questions we can answer for you as you begin to plan your visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth, Sharlene. We’re more than happy to help.
