    Military discounts

    Hiya Travis,

Welcome to planDisney! As a child of two veterans, I have such fond memories of visiting Walt Disney World Resort when I was little. I still remember visiting the area once called Toon Town and celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the parks. These memories were thanks to military discounts, and I am so glad they exist today.

Currently, there are two discounted ticket offers for eligible service members (and one for resort hotel rooms). The ticket deals are the Military Salute Tickets and Magic Your Way Tickets. I'm not sure if you meet the eligibility requirements but active duty, reservists, retired and military service members who have 100% disability status (and their spouses) are eligible for the Military Salute tickets, Magic Your Way Tickets, and the discounted stays at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels. US Military Service members who do not fit these criteria may only be eligible for the Magic Your Way tickets. I highly suggest looking at the criteria and even reaching out to the Shades of Green ticketing office to verify if you are eligible. They are always super helpful and can help you figure out which military ticket offers, if any, make the most sense for you.

Speaking of Shades of Green, did you know an AFRC resort is located at Walt Disney World Resort? Another great way eligible service members save money is by staying at Shades of Green. The resort is located near Magic Kingdom and features the largest standard rooms at Walt Disney World. Also, as a Guest of Shades of Green, you get to take advantage of resort perks such as Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours (on select dates), and you can use complimentary transportation to and from the theme parks!

I hope this was helpful, Travis. As I mentioned, I'm not sure if you and your family qualify for the current military offers, but even if you are not eligible, there are still so many other amazing special offers and deals you can take advantage of (and more getting added throughout the year). I always say that after you decide to visit the Most Magical Place on Earth, your next step should be to check out the Special Offers page. This can help you ensure that you get the best deals for your vacation, especially if there is flexibility in your dates. I could talk forever about this, but I don't want to keep you too long. If you need additional help, don't hesitate to get in touch with us. We would be honored to help you plan the trip of your dreams for the budget you have.

    Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.
