Hi, there!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Amanda. We're so glad you stopped by!
I can't think of a better way to begin the new year than with a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. You and your extended family are sure to have a magical stay!
Traveling with a preschooler in tow is going to be so much fun. Your heart will just melt as you watch her experience all the magic in
and out of the theme parks! It's my pleasure to help you plan an extra magical visit for her.
Your daughter will love collecting signatures from her favorite Disney Characters, so you'll definitely want to pack an autograph book and a marker for
Character Experiences. I've found that the retractable Sharpie markers are the easiest for Disney Characters to use. Pack two in case you lose one!
Exploring the theme parks requires a lot of walking and little legs tire easily, so a stroller is an absolute must-have. Even if your daughter no longer uses a stroller at home, she'll be glad to have one on hand during your Disney vacation.
Strollers can be rented from each of the four theme parks and Disney Springs. You may also bring your own! If you choose to bring a stroller, just be sure it meets the
size guidelines.
Did you know that
Guests are welcome to bring food and beverages into the theme parks? I always pack my kids' favorite snacks and drinks before heading out for pixie-dusted adventures. A small snack is a quick fix if my kids are on the verge of a meltdown while we're waiting for an attraction or show to begin.
Speaking of waiting, don't leave home without downloading the
Play Disney Parks mobile app. This app is super family-friendly with Disney trivia, playlists inspired by the theme parks, and games that interact with the queues of popular attractions! My sons once had so much playing with the Play Disney Parks mobile app while we were waiting in line to ride Toy Story Mania!, that they were actually disappointed when it was our turn to go. Isn't that crazy?
If your daughter is anything like my kids, she's going to want to buy everything she sees. To combat the urge to buy every single souvenir they see, we give our kids a
Disney Gift Card when we arrive at the Walt Disney World Resort. The kids know they have a set amount of money to spend with their Gift Card, and once it's spent, they're out of luck! This helps them make thoughtful choices while we're shopping.
I hope this was helpful, Amanda. Please visit us again soon with any new questions you may have about your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
