Mid-Oct 2012(Fixed) - GF (Maybe?) For Mom's Birthday celebration ....Will Free Dining be available (looking to book in the next month?)...Also, any Special Birthday things to do in the park? During a meal? Already looked at Florist in Room Celebration...

    Hi there Gina!

Wow, I wish I could plan my vacations a year ahead! Free dining options for those dates, will probably not be released until early ssecond quarter to the middle of next year. The reason they offer the free dining is because of lower crowd levels and reservations. Right now, they do not know how the system will look so they do not know if they can offer the free dining. I do know that they released certain dates for the beginning of 2012 a few weeks back so at least we know that they are offering it at times.

Probably, the least expensive and most recognizable thing to do in the parks for her birthday would be, to get her a "Birthday" Button to wear in the parks! She will be amazed at the attention she gets from Cast Members and even other guests!

One of the best restaurants to dine at for ANY birthday has to be the California Grill in the Contemporary Resort! If you can book an Advance Dinner Reservation for an evening out just before the Wishes Fireworks show, you're hardly ever going to experience anything like it! The dinner is wonderful and being able to watch the Wishes fireworks from the observation deck is so beautiful! Your Mother is going to really enjoy the experience! I know I have the past two times I have eaten there!

According to the Disney website, they can also make Specialty celebration cakes for an additional charge and should be ordered 48 hours in advance by calling (407) 827-2253. To make dining reservations, book online or call (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463 up to 180 days prior to your visit. I hope you and your mom have a Magical Stay at the Walt Disney World Resort! Thanks for asking the Moms Panel! If you have more questions, we are always here to help!
