Hello, I am in the middle of organizing our trip and I am a little confused for dining reservations. We are arriving on June 25th. Does that mean I can book 60 days after I booked our trip, which was in January, or does it mean 60 before the 25th of June?

    Hello Alissa,

Believe it or not, summer is just around the corner and so is your Walt Disney World vacation. As the planner for the group, I'm sure you are a little excited and maybe a little nervous about planning everything "just right." Enjoy the experience, and know that no matter what, you are going to have an amazing time and make memories that will last a lifetime!

When it comes to making dining reservations, you can make them 60 days before your arrival date. In your case, that would be 60 days prior to June 25. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, you'll be able to make your reservations for your entire trip (or up to 10 days) on that date. Otherwise, you'll need to make your dining reservations day by day.

Since you have a bit of time before that 60 day window is here. Take the next month to pick your number one choices for restaurants, but also have a few back up plans in mind. Sometimes really popular restaurants like Chef Mickey's or Space 220 Restaurant in EPCOT can seem impossible to get a reservation for; yet, fun dining experiences like Tusker House Restaurant at Disney's Animal Kingdom or Biergarten Restaurant in EPCOT can be fun (and delicious) alternatives.

Dining reservations typically open up each day beginning at 6:00 AM EST. So be ready on that 60 day mark with your list of choices. If you're staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, you may find you have better luck booking some of the more popular restaurants on the last days of your vacation because they are more than 60 days out. Also, don't get completely discouraged if you don't get everything on your list. There is still the chance that guests will cancel reservations as their plans change, freeing up spaces for you, even while you are actually on your vacation. So keep checking.

Hope this helps. Have fun planning your magical vacation!

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
