Hi Kristi,
Welcome to Walt Disney World and thank you for submitting your question to us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. As your vacation plans progress we hope you come back and visit us with all of your vacation planning questions.
I have a family of 6 and am always looking for ways to save a little money, but yet I still want comfortable amenities. The good news for our families is that you can achieve this in any of the Disney Resort hotel categories: Value, Moderate or Deluxe. Although the Value resorts have fewer amenities than the Deluxe resorts, Disney customer service is the same in all of the Resort hotels. You also will be happy to know all of the pools and outdoor areas are impeccably themed.
Your family of 6 (4 adults + 2 children) can of stay in 2 Resort hotel rooms in any category. Otherwise if you want to be in 1 room you may select a Family Suite in the Value category or a Cabin at Fort Wilderness in the Moderate category. There are 2 Bedroom Concierge Suites in the Deluxe category but those generally cost more than 2 standard Deluxe rooms.
Of the above categories I generally recommend for a family with 4 Adults to select 2 standard rooms at the Value or Moderate category rather than a Family Suite or a cabin. My reasoning is because 2 standard rooms will have adult sized beds, while the Family Suites and Cabins are designed for comfort of 2 Adults plus children. Below are my favorite Value and Moderate Resort hotels if you wish to book 2 standard rooms:
- Pop Century
- Art of Animation (Little Mermaid section)
- Port Orleans Riverside
- Port Orleans French Quarter
- Coronado Springs
Have fun vacation planning and hope to hEAR from you again!
Blessings,
