Hello, Jennifer, welcome to planDisney. It is always nice to see a fellow North Carolinian stop by and ask a question. I see that your vacation to Walt Disney World is right around the corner. I bet you are getting so excited.
Jennifer,
Disney's Pop Century Resort is such a fun place to stay. I love the nostalgia of the resort, it makes for some really cute pictures. I think you are going to enjoy it, too. In your room, you'll find a small mini refrigerator but that's it as far as appliances go. For safety reasons, it is not possible to have a microwave or any other appliance in your room at Disney's Pop Century Resort. However, there are plenty of microwaves for use at the
Everything POP Shopping & Dining food court area. You'll be able to use these microwaves, free of charge, anytime the food court is open which is about 7:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. each day. I find that the Everything POP Shopping & Dining area isn't too far of a walk but the rooms in the 50's, 60's and 70's buildings are the closest to the Classic Hall where the food court is located. If you wanted to, you could always put in a request for one of these buildings. I've linked the
map of Disney's Pop Century Resort for you so you can see what I am talking about.
If you get a chance one evening to swing into the Everything POP Shopping & Dining food court area, be sure to pick up a tie-dye cheesecake which is a fan favorite! It's the quintessential snack when staying at Disney's Pop Century Resort, you've got to try it at least once. In fact, it's so loved that it has been on the menu since the resort opened in 2003. That's a long time. This sweet treat is a multi-colored cheesecake that sits on top of a red-velvet crust and it's actually really delicious.
I hope you have a wonderful vacation, Jennifer. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm happy to help.
Have fun!
