Hello Tamera,
It is good to hear that you are doing your research as you plan your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation. I am so glad you came to the Disney Parks Moms Panel to seek our advice on
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. I am a huge fan of Walt Disney World during the holidays. The spirit of the season comes alive with all the extra touches and the festive surroundings.
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is a ticketed event on select nights. On the evenings of the party, there is not a closure then re-opening, but those guests without a ticket will be asked to leave once the party has begun. Some of my favorite aspects of the party are the complimentary cookies and hot cocoa at different locations around the park, the "snow" on Main Street, USA,
Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime parade, and Holiday WISHES nighttime spectacular. These are things you would not see during a regular day or evening in Magic Kingdom. There are fireworks on non-party evenings, however, it is not the same show. On party nights, it has a holiday theme. You will also find your favorite characters in their holiday attire, which is also unique to the event.
I hope this helps with your decision making. Have a magical time and a jolly holiday!
