Hi! What is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and is it worth the extra $? We will be at MK on 11/12. If we don’t purchase tickets, will we have to leave the park at a specific time? Will miss seeing the castle fireworks? Thank you!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Pamela!

My family's absolute favorite holiday event at Walt Disney World Resort is Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. This special event at Magic Kingdom Park can be best described as the festive Christmas season getting gift wrapped in Disney magic!

The Oh-So-Jolly "Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade", featuring giant toy soldiers marching down Main Street, U.S.A. is not to be missed! Your family will have access to Special Disney Character Appearances with Disney Characters donning their holiday best – including some rare sightings too. There is also live entertainment, dance parties and complementary holiday treats being served throughout the evening. The entire theme park smells like hot chocolate and gingerbread. It gets to snow on Main Street, U.S.A. while Cinderella Castle shimmers, and the holiday fireworks will leave you breathless! In my personal estimation it is most definitely worth it!

I suggest purchasing Party Tickets as soon as possible. Parties can sell out very quickly, as they limit the number of Guests at Magic Kingdom Park for these events. On party nights, the park closes to regular-ticket holders at 7:00 p.m. So, if you wish to remain inside Magic Kingdom Park to watch the evening fireworks, you will need to buy tickets for the party too. You'll find that attraction lines are often much shorter than usual, making the evening quite magical!

I hope this information was useful, Pamela. Wishing you a magical holiday at Walt Disney World Resort!
