We were there for Mickey's Christmas parade in the past but that was all we saw. We felt we missed a lot. What is the best way to take advantage of the night?

    Hey Kathleen!

The holidays at Walt Disney World are a magical time of year to visit Walt Disney World and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is my favorite special event.

I have found the best way to get the most out of these parties is to arrive as soon as the gates open to party guests. If you have a ticket for the party only you can enter the Magic Kingdom beginning at 4:00 p.m. Since the Magic Kingdom closes to regular guests at 7:00 p.m. the crowds dramatically start to thin as the evening progresses. Between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., you can take advantage of shorter wait times on most of the headliner rides. With these short waits you will likely be able to get all your favorite rides and attractions out of the way before the party even begins.

Once the party starts you can take in all the sights and sounds of the holiday festivities including Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, Holiday Wishes, special character meet & greets, Celebrate the Season stage show and the holiday dance party at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Café and the Golden Horseshoe.

Don't forget to take some time to grab a Snickerdoodle and a hot chocolate to enjoy before the entertainment begins.

I hope this helps with your party planning. If you have any more questions about Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party or any other aspect of your Walt Disney World vacation please come back and see me.

Wishing you a magical holiday and a pixie-dusted day!
