Hey Kristen!
Glad to have you back here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
As you’ve already heard, the
Downtown Disney District has begun welcoming guests back in a limited capacity. I think you may have visited a few weeks ago and I hope your visit was great! I hope you were able to snag some Disneyland 65th Anniversary merchandise! I was able to get a few items on the virtual sale through
shopDisney. I can’t wait for my items to arrive! Every day we’re a little bit closer to the parks opening.
Tortilla Jo’s opened its doors today and
Ballast Point Brewing Co is almost ready to welcome guests as well! Little by little we’ll get there.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but at this time Mickey Balloons are not being sold at the Downtown Disney District. There’s something incredibly special and magical about a Mickey Balloon. To some it brings more happiness than we could ever imagine. Whenever I see a green Mickey Balloon it takes me back to the Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Panel at the D23 Expo of 2017. I think of a little boy named Trey who has a hard time in big crowds. At the Expo, Bob Chapek shared a wonderful story about Trey and the two Cast Members who helped Trey get something that at the time was the most important thing in the world to him. At the end, they played the song “When You Wish Upon A Star” and most of us in the crowd were able to receive our very own green Mickey Balloon to take home with us. As you can imagine, it was almost like a sea of green balloons. It was an incredible moment that I’ll always treasure and I get goosebumps just thinking about it. If you get the chance, the Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Panel from 2017 is available on YouTube and I encourage you to watch it.
Well Kristen, I hope this information finds you safe and well. If anything else comes up you know we’re here for you.
Remember, always believe in the Magic!
