Hi, We are going on a Mexican Riviera cruise on Sunday (YAYAYAYA!!!) I'm wondering- in Cabo, are we able to get off the boat and just hang out on the beach? Or do we have to buy one of the "resort pool" packages?

    Hi, Mindi!

Yay, yay, yay -- back at ya! That's so exciting that your Mexican Riviera Cruise is coming up.  I, too, am sailing this itinerary very soon -- I CAN'T WAIT!

In Cabo, most beaches are within walking distance from where the ship docks with the main beach of Cabo right next to the port on the bay. From that beach, you can look across the bay to Land's End Beach. Yet, if you want to visit a more secluded beach, take a boat ride -- about 200 Mexican pesos or $20 -- towards the end of Land's End Beach, where you can find Playa del Amor (Lover's Beach). You will find calm surf that makes for great snorkeling and swimming.

As the Disney Cruise Mom, I would like to encourage you to take a look at the Port Adventures in Cabo San Lucas -- especially since you'll call on that port twice and it is one where you'll need to tender. I just think it makes for a worry-free day (especially for the planner in the family) to not have to figure in the logistics of your time on shore. Plus, you don't have to  consider money issues or expectations when it comes to amenities or conveniences.Let someone else think of all that!

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
