Hi. I am going on a Mexican riviera cruise in feb and was wondering how the departing from the ship works and what time do we get off at so I can make flight arrangements. Thank you :)

    Hi, Brian!

Having just stepped off the Disney Wonder from a fabulous cruise to the Mexican Riviera, I have some firsthand knowledge of this itinerary I can pass along to you. If you haven't already, make sure you plan your Port Adventures before you ever leave home. Get out there and see Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas with their many beautiful mountains, deserts, beaches and city sights to explore. Since many excursions require a bit of commute, you'll want to pack a daybag -- complete with swimsuits, sunglasses and plenty of sunscreen.  Also, grab a towel from the ship (there are usually some located in bins where you debark) and purchase a bottle of water for each family member. The dry air can make you thirsty!

As far as debarkation day, you'll receive customs documents and luggage tags the night before you leave. Make sure you complete the forms, pack all but one suitcase, attach your tags and leave your luggage by your door before you turn in for the night. On debarkation day, you'll be assigned a breakfast time (or you can grab a quick bite at Beach Blanket Buffet or Goofy's Galley). Then, you'll wait for your character to be called (which was indicated on your luggage tags). You'll need your Key to the World Cards (for each family member) and passports in order to be checked off the ship and pass through US Customs. Then, you'll claim your luggage according character in the terminal.  Ground transportation is located just outside the baggage claim area.Disney Cruise Line strongly suggests that departure flights from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) be scheduled for no earlier than 1 p.m.

I probably bombarded you with more information than you had anticipated, but while it was fresh in my mind, I wanted to give you my full report. Let me know if I you need something else. I'd be happy to help!  Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
