is a Mexican passport valid as a form of identification when scanning your pass for the first time into the parks ?

Hello, Carla. Welcome to planDisney! I'm so happy to hear that you'll be visiting The Happiest Place on Earth next month. What a wonderful way to welcome a new year!

To activate a Disneyland Magic Key, Guests ages 18 and over must present a valid government-issued identification. I'm happy to report that an original passport will work. However, if you purchased an Imagine Key - which is available to Southern California Residents living in zip codes 90000 to 93599 - you will need to provide a government-issued ID with an address within those zip codes. Once you show your ID and scan your pass to activate, a Cast Member will take your photo which links you to your Magic Key. I suggest carrying a photo ID with you during each visit to the Disneyland Resort, as per the Disneyland® Resort Magic Key Terms and Conditions you may be asked to present it when you enter the parks on subsequent visits or for the use of your Magic Key discounts and benefits.

Carla, you will also need a theme park reservation for the date you want to visit. You can check availability on the Park Reservation Availability Calendar. I like to book my must-visit dates first so I am never left scrambling in case a date books fast. Also, be sure to check out the Magic Key Portal in the Disneyland Mobile App before your visit. There are fun Magic Key offerings throughout the year, and the magical details can be found there!

I hope this information helps, Carla. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I'd be happy to help!

    See you in the parks,
    Melissa
