What method does WDW use to heat their 54 pools ? LP gas, heat pumps, electric heaters, ???

Hi there, Mary Jo! Welcome to planDisney!

I don't know about you, but one of my absolute favorite parts of any vacation is a day of fun and sun by the pool. This goes double for any visit to Walt Disney World Resort, as the pools at the Disney Resorts Collection hotels are out of this world! I love how the theming is incorporated into the pool areas, ensuring you are fully immersed in the experience both inside and outside. My personal favorite is Stormalong Bay which is shared between Disney's Yacht Club Resort and Disney's Beach Club Resort. Have you ever swam in a sand bottom pool, Mary Jo? Until my recent stay at Disney's Beach Club Resort, I had not, and wow, what an experience!

Now, I did reach out to Guest Relations on your behalf to try to find out what type of equipment is used to heat the pools around Walt Disney World. Unfortunately, it seems as though there is different equipment used based on the location of each pool, so they were unable to provide a general answer to your question. However, they did recommend that you speak with the Guest Relations team at the hotel or water park you will be visiting, as they may be able to contact the on-site facilities team and get an answer for you. While this may not be the answer you were hoping for, I am sure the Cast Members will be happy to help make sure you are safe to enjoy a refreshing splash around in the pool.

I can share that all the pools across Walt Disney World are heated to a very comfortable 82 degrees year-round. Speaking of pools, did you know that Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park has now reopened? If you get a chance, I highly recommend spending some time here to enjoy the incredible Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool, and if you're brave enough, take a wild ride on Crush 'n' Gusher! Just be sure to treat yourself to EARidescent Ice Dream Cone from Happy Landings Ice Cream before you leave. You won't regret it!

Mary Jo, please write us again should you have any other questions as you plan your Walt Disney Resort vacation! We hope to see you again soon!

    Have a magical day!
