Hi there, Angela, and thank you for bringing your question to
planDisney!
First and foremost, I’m so sorry for what you and your family are going through right now. It sounds like you could all use some magic and pixie dust in your lives, and I can’t think of a better place to experience that than at the
Disneyland Resort! Your son will never forget his
birthday at the Happiest Place on Earth!
To help you enjoy as many hours in the parks as you can, I recommend looking into
Disability Access Service, or DAS. It’s designed to assist Guests who aren’t able to wait in a conventional standby queue, so I think this could be helpful in conserving your energy. Instead of waiting in a traditional standby line, you’d set a return time for an attraction, which would allow you to sit in a comfortable spot to wait until it’s your turn to ride the attraction.
You can
pre-register online with
DAS Advance as early as 30 days before your visit, and no less than two days before. So, based on your arrival date, it looks like you’re within the window to register online! With DAS Advance, you'll have a live online chat with a Cast Member about the reason you’re requesting DAS. If approved, you’ll have the chance to book up to 2 one-hour return windows for
select experiences ahead of time, subject to availability. This is in addition to the regular DAS benefit of making return-time selections throughout your day.
If you aren’t able to register for DAS before your visit, you can also register at the Disneyland Resort upon arrival at City Hall (in Disneyland Park), Chamber of Commerce (in Disney California Adventure Park), or any Guest Information location. A Cast Member would then schedule your first DAS attraction for you. From that point forward, you’ll be able to schedule your own DAS return times using the
Disneyland app.
You can also use DAS in conjunction with
Disney Genie+ Service to get even more out of your day! Both of these services can be accessed from the convenience of your Disneyland app. A friend of mine recently used both of these services in tandem during her day at Disneyland Park, and she was very impressed with the number of attractions her family was able to experience.
Another option is to
rent a wheelchair or Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV). This can be done on a daily basis, and rentals can be found to the right of the Disneyland Park Main Entrance, at the Stroller Building.
I hope this information helps you get set for a comfortable, memorable visit, Angela! I’m sending you my best wishes for good health and many magical memories to come!
See ya’ real soon,
Kristin
