I have messed around and not made reservations for character dining and we will be in Disney in 3 weeks. There are no reservations! What are the chances of us getting reservations when we get there or getting seated if we just show up at the resturant.

    Hi Sara:

Character dining is extremely popular, as you know have evidence of.  I wouldn't count your chances of enjoying a character meal out just yet however.  There's no harm in checking Disney reservations every day from now until your trip.  You may get lucky with a last-minute cancelation.  You never know.

The chances of you getting a character meal without an advance dining reservation will depend on how flexible you can be with your dining schedule, and how big your party size.  There is hope in getting a walk-up, and I've seen it happen.  There are last-second cancellations and seats do sometimes open up unexpectedly.  If you are willing to eat at "off" hours that aren't as popular - such as the first or last seatings - your chances of getting a walk-up reservation will increase.  Of course, without an advance dining reservation, there's no guarantee the restaurant will be able to accommodate a walk-up.  But if you can be flexible with your dining times, and are prepared to possibly be told that you cannot be accommodated, then I say, go for it and try for a walk-up reservation.  I would go as early as you can to increase your chances of getting seated.

    Good luck.
